Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo mayoral candidate Don Scott is pleased to share the following endorsement he has received from Wood Buffalo business owner and resident Douglas Mills.

“I have known Don Scott for many years, including when he worked with my father, the late Harvey Mills, QC.

Don often credits my father’s encouragement for his involvement in the community, including as a volunteer and a political representative. Don was more than a business partner to my father; he was a friend, and over time he has become one of my friends as I have come to respect his dedication and commitment to the people of this region.

As a small business owner, I particularly appreciate Don’s stance on the need to support our local businesses as we seek to recover not only from the wildfire in 2016 but also as we grapple with the new economic realities we face in our region. I know Don will serve as a powerful advocate for our residents, our businesses and our communities as he works with all stakeholders to ensure this region is sustainable and viable in every sense.

I believe my late father would have been deeply proud of all Don has accomplished; I also know he would happily provide his endorsement of Don as the future Mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. It is my genuine pleasure to do so as his son and as a small business owner, and to express my support of Don Scott as he seeks election in October 2017. My father knew Don would be a strong leader in our region, and I have also come to know this to be true, and as such Don has earned my confidence to lead us into the future in Wood Buffalo.” – Douglas Mills

Said Don Scott: “I am genuinely humbled to receive this endorsement from Douglas Mills, son of my mentor Harvey Mills. Harvey was truly the individual who encouraged me to pursue a path of public service, and to have earned the confidence of his son is an honour. I am delighted to share his endorsement as I seek election as the next Mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.”
